Earlier visibility creates response time

Turn a late freight problem into an earlier operating decision

When a carrier cannot perform, the cost can extend beyond the shipment. Missed pickup windows, emergency recovery and operational disruption become more likely when readiness risk stays hidden.

01 · Detect

Review readiness signals

See when confirmation, assignment, tracking or ETA requires attention before pickup.

02 · Decide

Give the issue an owner

Keep the responsible person, carrier conversation and next action visible in one record.

03 · Prepare

Compare backup options

Review qualified carriers based on equipment fit, lane fit, proximity and availability.

The continuity process

Four checkpoints before the pickup window

The exact timing can be configured for the operation. The goal is to make readiness visible while the team still has useful time to act.

T-24

Confirm the carrier

Review acceptance, qualification status and whether the assigned carrier still plans to perform.

T-12

Verify assignment

Confirm that the driver and required equipment are assigned and visible to the responsible team.

T-4

Activate visibility

Check tracking, shipment ownership and communication before the final pickup approach.

T-90

Compare final ETA

Review the estimated arrival against the required pickup window and escalate when needed.

Illustrative continuity scenario

A missing driver assignment becomes a visible decision

At T-12, the carrier is confirmed but no driver is assigned. The team contacts the carrier, reviews the response and prepares qualified backup options instead of waiting for a no-show at pickup.

Illustrative example only. Readiness signals and backup review support the assigned team; they do not guarantee carrier performance or capacity.

Common questions

Freight lane continuity

What does freight lane continuity mean?

Freight lane continuity is the ability to protect an upcoming pickup by monitoring carrier readiness, seeing risk early and preparing a qualified backup response when the assigned carrier may not perform.

What do T-24, T-12, T-4 and T-90 mean?

They are checkpoints before the required pickup time: 24 hours, 12 hours, 4 hours and 90 minutes. The exact checkpoints can be adjusted to the customer’s freight process.

Which carrier-risk signals can be reviewed?

Signals can include overdue confirmation, missing driver or equipment assignment, incomplete qualification information, inactive tracking, an ETA outside the pickup window and no identified backup option.

Does AI automatically replace the assigned carrier?

No. AI-assisted analysis can surface a signal. The assigned operations team reviews the facts, contacts the carrier and decides whether to prepare or use qualified backup capacity.

Can Logistware guarantee backup capacity?

No. Logistware can help the team identify and compare potential qualified backup options based on fit, proximity and availability. Capacity is not guaranteed.

Can the process support private dedicated shipments?

Yes. A shipper can work with dedicated carriers through a private freight process while using Logistware for visibility, communication, records and exception handling.
