Freight services are transportation arrangements used to move commercial goods, materials, machinery and other cargo between locations. The right service depends on the shipment—not on a generic label.
A palletized consumer-goods load may fit dry van transportation. Temperature-sensitive food may need reefer equipment. Steel or machinery may require flatbed or specialized open-deck equipment. A smaller shipment may move as LTL, while a provided trailer may need power-only capacity.

Choosing the right approach
Define the shipment before choosing a freight service
- Commodity: identify what is moving and any product-specific handling requirements.
- Dimensions and weight: use accurate information when equipment, capacity or legal limits depend on it.
- Loading and unloading: explain dock, forklift, crane, ground-level or other site conditions.
- Equipment: state the truck or trailer requirement when it is known and appropriate.
- Timing: provide real pickup and delivery appointments or windows.
- Special requirements: disclose temperature, securement, permits, customs, facility access or regulated-freight needs when they apply.
A load board can make the transportation opportunity visible. It does not replace the professional judgment needed to decide whether a carrier and equipment are appropriate for the shipment.

Carrier authority, insurance, equipment, cargo requirements, customs, permits and shipment-specific legal obligations should be verified by the people and authorities responsible for them.

Customs clearance, importer responsibilities, border documentation, carrier authority and commodity-specific regulations remain outside the load-board function and should be handled by the appropriate qualified parties and current authorities.
