Give carriers enough information to assess the shipment, select suitable equipment and submit a meaningful bid. A clear posting helps avoid discovering important requirements after the truck has been assigned.

A short city move can still involve waiting, a difficult loading bay or several deliveries. Evaluate the whole assignment rather than the driving distance alone. Ask about access, handling and appointment flexibility when the posting leaves a question unanswered.
For outbound freight, consider where the truck will finish and whether the timing works with its next commitment. Return-load availability is not guaranteed, so assess each opportunity on its own terms.
From pallet freight
to specialized equipment.

Dry van, retail & LTL
For packaged goods and retail distribution freight, specify pallet dimensions, stackability and handling. LTL describes a shipment that uses less than a full truckload; it is not a vehicle type. Confirm whether the receiver has a dock.

Straight trucks & expedited freight
Smaller commercial shipments may suit a straight truck, box truck or cargo van, depending on size and payload. For time-sensitive freight, state the actual deadline and access requirements. A smaller vehicle does not automatically include inside delivery or a tailgate.
Containers & trailer moves
For container and drayage work, specify the terminal, release arrangements, chassis needs and return location. For power-only loads, identify the trailer and collection instructions. Use the actual municipality when a facility is outside Toronto.

Use the city name
that matches the address.
Etobicoke, North York and Scarborough are within Toronto. Mississauga, Brampton and Vaughan are separate municipalities in the wider GTA. Keep those distinctions in shipment postings so carriers can evaluate the real pickup and delivery points.
Airport-related freight also needs a precise facility reference. Toronto Pearson lists separate Cargo East, Cargo West and Cargo North facilities. Confirm the cargo handler, release details and collection location rather than using “Pearson pickup” alone.
