Before posting a supplier pickup, confirm that your business is responsible for arranging the freight. Then get the actual shipping address, release contact and collection window from the supplier.
A purchase order describes the commercial order, but may not describe the packed shipment. Ask for the final pallet or crate count, dimensions, gross weight and loading method. Share the order or release references the shipping desk needs to identify the goods.
Tell carriers when your receiving team can accept the freight. If a delivery supports a production requirement, explain the deadline and any receiving restrictions so the carrier can assess the requested service.

Production complete
is not always shipment ready.
Finished goods may still need inspection, packaging, labelling or an internal release before they can leave the factory. Base the pickup request on the time the shipping team can actually load the truck.
For a customer or distribution-centre delivery, confirm receiving hours, booking references and unloading requirements. State whether a dock appointment is already confirmed or still needs to be arranged.
If the final order changes, update the shipment information and confirm the revised arrangement with the carrier. Extra pallets, different weights or a changed destination can affect the equipment, rate and schedule.

Factory freight is not
one truck type.
Manufacturing shipments range from a few cartons on a skid to full trailers of finished products or large industrial pieces. Describe the load and confirm how the proposed equipment will handle it.
Palletised goods & components
Depending on volume and handling needs, discuss LTL, partial or full-truckload arrangements. Confirm transfers, trailer space and loading access. Explore pallet shipping and dry van freight.

An internal transfer
still needs a clear handoff.
Two facilities in the same business can have different gate hours, dock access and unloading capabilities. Confirm the receiving arrangements instead of assuming the next plant can accept a truck whenever it arrives.
For work-in-progress goods or returnable racks and totes, describe the handling needs and any empty equipment that must travel back. A return movement is not automatically included in the outbound rate.
If you need repeated movements, discuss the schedule and capacity directly with the carrier. Posting individual shipments does not establish a dedicated shuttle service or a long-term capacity commitment.
Make the deadline clear.
Keep the plan current.
An urgent component, an extra production run or a missed collection can change your shipping needs. Identify the actual delivery requirement, the cargo-ready time and who can approve an alternative.
- For a production-critical delivery: confirm that the carrier can meet the requested service and appointment. Just-in-time is a requirement to agree, not an automatic guarantee.
- For a delayed factory release: tell the carrier what changed and confirm the revised pickup, availability and charges before proceeding.
- For extra volume: provide the additional quantities and measurements. Do not assume the original trailer has enough space or payload remaining.
- For a replacement pickup: resolve the previous arrangement and tell the shipping desk which carrier is now expected.

For Canadian, U.S. and supported cross-border lanes, enter the actual shipping locations and confirm that the selected carrier can perform the movement. Capacity depends on the lane, timing, equipment and participating carriers.
Logistware reviews submitted member information during onboarding. That review does not replace checking a carrier's suitability, applicable authority and insurance for your shipment.
Manufacturing freight across the border
Identify the parties responsible for shipping documents, customs coordination and receiving arrangements before booking. Confirm the carrier's ability to run the lane and the time needed for the movement.

Where can manufacturers post freight to find carriers?
Manufacturers can register or log in to the Logistware load board and post shipment details, including the route, cargo, timing and equipment needs. Review carrier bids, clarify the service and award the shipment when the terms are agreed.
Can I arrange both supplier collections and finished-goods deliveries?
Yes. You can post inbound or outbound transportation requirements when your business is authorised to arrange the freight. Confirm the supplier's release details for an inbound load and the customer's receiving arrangements for an outbound load.
Can manufacturers post LTL and full-truckload shipments?
Yes. Describe the actual quantity, packed size, weight and handling needs so carriers can assess the shipment. Confirm whether the proposed service involves shared trailer space, transfers or exclusive trailer use; do not assume those details from pallet count alone.
Does a manufacturing shipment have to contain machinery?
No. It can contain raw materials, components, packaging supplies, work in progress or finished products. Machinery hauling is a separate cargo requirement with its own equipment, loading and securement considerations.
Can I request a delivery tied to my production schedule?
Yes. State the required arrival window and confirm the carrier can meet the agreed service. Posting a deadline does not guarantee capacity, on-time arrival or uninterrupted production. Discuss time-critical requirements before accepting an offer.
Can we keep our usual carriers and post only additional freight?
Yes. You can use Logistware for individual shipments, overflow or new lanes while retaining your existing arrangements. Respect any existing commitments and ensure that each load has one clear pickup plan.
Does Logistware manage factory inventory or production planning?
This page describes Logistware's load-board functions: freight posting, carrier bids, communication, documents, team tools and shipment tracking. It does not offer inventory planning, factory scheduling or an assumed connection to your ERP system. Ask Logistware directly about any additional technical requirement.
Who is responsible for transporting the freight?
The selected carrier performs the transportation. Logistware supplies the load board and connected freight tools. Your team confirms the cargo details, carrier suitability, service scope and commercial terms for the shipment.
